Mystery Mixer – What is it?
Charming Mystery Games is a new product line at My Mystery Party which introduces a fresh, one-of-a-kind mystery experience that combines collectible keepsake charm keychains with engaging deduction gameplay. This non-roleplaying party game invites players to mingle, socialize, and solve 8 independent mystery words or phrases using collectible *keychain charm sets as the clues.
Choose from five Moderate Difficulty volumes, each featuring 8 completely different, independent mystery words or phrases to solve. A Tween Edition is also available, bringing the total to six unique game options, each with its own exclusive set of mysteries.
Hosting more than 8 players? Simply purchase additional volumes so everyone can join in the fun.
Prefer a different format? Wine Glass Marker kits are also available instead of keychain charm sets. Bag charms & bracelets are coming soon.
The players receive a unique keychain charm set that serves two purposes: it's a collection of clues that unlocks a mystery word or phrase and a memorable keepsake to take home. The mystery word or phrase can be anything from over 17 categories - see below:
As players investigate their own charm set, they'll also work together to uncover the secrets hidden within everyone else's. Each player will receive an investigator card to record three official guesses, a hint card inside of an envelope, and a solution card inside of a labeled envelope - all inside of a velveteen pouch (there are 8 colors of pouches). The hint card will divulge the category, and give a bit of advice for solving the mystery.
Unlike traditional mystery games, Mystery Mixer is social, interactive, and completely non-roleplaying, making it easy for teens and adults with any personalities to jump in and play. The game can be enjoyed casually in the background as guests mingle, or it can become the centerpiece of your event with a competitive race to solve the most mystery words and phrases. The mixers are also a perfect way to pre-game and break the ice at any murder mystery to get the deductive juices flowing!
You'll have more than 8 players at your party? No problem! Purchase multiple volumes of the mixer kits, as they all have different mysteries to solve. Or, there are also Pocket Mystery add-ons, where you can purchase as many as you need.

Mystery Mixer – How It Works
This mingling game can be played in two ways: passively throughout any gathering, or as a structured, competitive mystery game.
Included in the game:
- A 6 by 9" cardstock host and player instruction card (front/back)
- 8 velveteen bags in 8 different colors (so the players can keep track of them)
- 8 collectible keychains with 4-8 charms attached that are clues to 8 independent mystery words or phrases
- 8 hint cards in 8 sealed envelopes
- 8 solution cards in 8 sealed envelopes
- 8 investigator cards for players to record guesses
At first glance, the charms may be completely puzzling. That’s where the mixer begins.
Option 1: Passive Play
Players mingle naturally throughout the event, casually comparing charms and sharing ideas.
At a designated time near the end, everyone submits one guess for what their charm set represents before opening their solution envelope. We suggest playing this way when there is other entertainment at your event, and you just need to fill in spots of time.
Option 2: Structured Competitive Play
Round 1:
First Impressions
Players examine their charms and make an initial guess, assigning a confidence level along with their guess:
- Zero
- Mid
- Mega
Higher confidence earns more points—but risks bigger losses if incorrect. T his game is all about strategy!
Mingle Phase
Players move around the room for mingle session #1 and can:
- Ask others for opinions
- Make allies (optional)
- Compare interpretations
- Piece together clues collaboratively...or...
- Sabotage competitors - it is up to the players how they wish to play!
Round 2:
The Hint
Players open their Hint envelope, revealing a category that narrows the mystery. They make a second guess, again choosing a new confidence level. At this stage, connections begin to form—and “aha” moments start to happen.
Mingle session #2 launches, where players can:
- Refine or double-check their guesses
- Take risks with higher confidence
- Guess other players’ mysteries for bonus points
- Sabotage and/or make/break alliances
Final Round
Players submit their final answer, then open their Answer Key. Each player reveals their solution to the group, and everyone tallies their points.
