Murder Mystery Synopis:

Shade Hallow Manor is a crumbling old mansion in the misty town of Dark Cloud. Built in 1670 by a legendary writer named Shade Hallow, the manor once stood tall and proud—but now it’s worn down, overgrown, and full of ghost stories. Back in his day, Mr. Hallow was treated like a king. Everyone adored his spooky books and strange imagination.

The manor still holds pieces of its former beauty—arched windows, carved doors, and towering chimneys—but time and weather have taken their toll. The gardens are wild with weeds where roses and twisted topiaries once bloomed. The last of the Hallow family passed away over 300 years ago, and the townspeople took over the estate. But they never dared to fix it up… not with the rumors that Shade Hallow’s ghost still wanders the hallways.

The estate managers have hired crews to clean out the dust and cobwebs for the first time in centuries. They’re hosting a Halloween bash at the manor, hoping to turn it into a spooky bed and breakfast that will bring tourists—and money—to Dark Cloud. Most folks are excited, but not everyone agrees. Some say the manor is cursed and should be left alone.

You live in Dark Cloud, and you’re not quite sure what to believe. But like it or not, you’ve received an invitation to the party at Shade Hallow Manor. The moon is full, the air is thick with fog… and this is where your story begins.

Totally fun, will do it again!

Posted by Melissa A on Oct 27th 2019

I made sure everyone committed, and then paid extra to everything printed and sealed. I’m glad I did, it was totally worth it! We setup The night before, I made a booking police station photo op, that we used when people came in. Add some candles, webs, covered the furniture in white sheets, and made punch that I put into novelty blood bags, and added black lights. Saturday, 6pm, Everyone got a name tag and took a pic. After everyone settled, we started round one, and people got into character. It was funny. We had drinks and apps. We broke for dinner, at about 7:30. We pre ordered pizzas. At 8pm we started round two, the motive and who was going to be the victim became pretty clear. That part was funny because we all looked at her and said you got any last words? And she flipped us off and went to become the victim. 8:20pm The timeline (where everyone was during the murder) part was harder, that’s where I would take half a star, but we ended up doing that as a group. We each took turns reading off where we were, then the detective read the forensic report, and we wrote our guesses down. I collected the cards. Everyone shared who they thought the killer was. Then round 3 cards went out and they read them in order. The last to read is the killer. Over by 9:30-10pm Everyone wants to do it again!

    Hosted this one last year

Our guests enjoyed the evening. The mystery was great, my guests got into their roles and had a lot of fun. I would highly recommend this. We are doing Hatter's Ball this year.
