We did this for the ladies at my church! The second one we've done with this company, third in all. We had a GREAT time! We had all the main characters needed, plus one optional, and I also made up an additional character, a hotel clerk/detective. The hotel clerk took the ladies entry tickets to free me to do other things and to add to the "room" look, then she changed into detective clothes when we needed the detective. We even had a bell on the "counter." We had 23 "other" guests, ladies of the church who came to try and solve the mystery. We transformed our smaller hall into a hotel lobby with couches, cushioned chairs, etc. Our food was appetizers and drinks were sparking cider, 7-up, and Vernors - bubbly type of drinks in plastic champaign glasses to add to the glamour of the early 1900s. Everyone wants to know when we'll do this again!
We were away for the weekend with 4 families. 8 kids 10-17yrs plus 6 adults. It was very last minute, we bought the kit online the night prior to the party and handed out the characters the morning of. The kids were so excited, practicing their characters during the day before we started. It was so much fun and was talked about for days. We peeked at the round 1 clues and picked an easy character for the 10year old and she really surprised us, she didn’t need any help and got right into it. Great fun for the whole family.
This was our first time hosting a mystery party so we weren't sure how it would go. It was the first time for most of our guests to be involved in something like this also. There were a couple of hiccups, but we just rolled with it, we had 22 people in attendance and everyone had a great time. The host directions were very clear and easy to understand. With the feedback from our guests we will now be making this an annual affair, can't wait to find out which one of our friends is murdered next!
The download files offer simplicity to planning your party. Looking forward to the experience.
I was worried not everyone would play along, but they really did! Everyone got into character and had fun making accusations. Now we have to throw a mystery party every year!
My daughter and 13of her friends enjoyed the game very much. Tiring for the mum though.
This was the first Murder Mystery party I have planned , it Was very easy orchestrate the party with the PDF instructions provided. The characters were so much fun and everyone had a great night!! When it was time for the victim to die it was a little confusing , with the north, south directions and no one knew to turn out the lights until after the victim died in front of everyone, then people moved in the dark, but it was just a little hiccup and the game was still great fun!! I would definitely purchase again! ------------------------------------------------------- From MMP Staff: The lights on/off is just in the story - there was no need to recreate anything involving the crime (that's why we don't tell you to do it in the host instructions) - but we're glad you had fun! Can't wait for you to try another game!
