The Devonshire Manor is an 18th century mansion on the outskirts of the town of Pinehorn. It was once owned by the wealthy Devonshire family and is a legendary estate to the citizens of Pinehorn. In their day, the Devonshires were beloved, treated as royalty, as they owned more than half of the businesses in town. The Devonshire Manor has exquisite architectural features, albeit weathered throughout the years. Weeds and high grass have long since replaced the flowering shrubs and ornamental trees that adorned the property in its day. The remaining Devonshire lineage passed away in the early 1900’s, leaving their estate in the hands of the town of Pinehorn. The townspeople have neglected to keep up with the place, mostly due to the legend that the Devonshires still roam the corridors at night. The mayor of Pinehorn has made it her quest to remodel and reinstate the Devonshire Manor as a historical bed and breakfast. She believes that the old estate can generate tourism and an income for the town of Pinehorn. Most of the townspeople stand behind her, although a few people are adamantly against her pursuit – stating that the place is haunted and should be left alone. The mayor cleaned up the dusty cobwebs and is hosting a fundraiser bash for the townspeople of Pinehorn. She hopes to raise enough funds for her remodeling endeavors. You have been invited to attend the event and this is where your story begins.

We had so much fun getting into character and gathering clues to solve this murder mystery. There was more laughter and spontaneity in our group than we have had in a long time. Stacey C on Jun 10th 2021
Just a quick review to help others. The mystery packet was complete and put to together well. I bought this for my granddaughter's 16th birthday - and they seemed to really enjoy the mystery. I put together a formal dining experience and they all stayed in character. We had a little mix-up with the right person finding the victim, but it all worked out okay. I recommend this if you have anyone who likes to solve mysteries. It was well-written and I had to do minimal prep work. And, only one person out of the eight guest was able to solve the mystery. I did Devonshire Manor Murder for 10 girls ages 11 to 13, I cut the CBC reporter and Social Media Consultant out, had to keep to 10 people for Covid-19. Held the party in Garage with door open. Worked out great for the girls, they all had lots of fun. Unknown on Sep 12th 2020
We did this party with all ladies from church. There were about 35 of us. We used the 7 main characters and the police officer and reporter. Everyone had a wonderful, fun time. It was a bit more work for me with copying everything because we bought the download version vs. the boxed. This was our first time doing a mystery party where the victim died during the party - made for a nice twist to the game. We set up our dead person in a double closet and put the name of the room on the outside of the doors - worked perfect - because I could set it up before the party. We did not play any bonus games due to time. We had simple food - pizza & salad, with fancy brownies and ice cream for dessert. We ate first and brought out dessert just after the 2nd round began. We'll be doing this again! Susan Solo on Feb 5th 2020
