This is not a complete 'stand alone' game - it is only to be purchased if you are needing up to 12 additional unique characters for the instant download of the 'Murder on the Boardwalk: a 1920's Murder Mystery Party Game.
It is optimal to use all characters from the main game and expansion pack #1 prior to using this pack, as the characters are added to the character list in order of occurrence. However, if a hand full (~3-4) of the optional players are not played from expansion pack #1, the game will still function appropriately. This is the instant download upon purchase.
It is highly-advisable to play all (if not most) players from the main game before adding expansion packs. There may be references in these materials to optional players from the main game, such as Hal Sapone.
Note: never allow your guests to choose their characters from the free invite or guest pregame site as there may be characters you haven't purchased - such as in expansion pack #1. You, as the host, are to choose the characters for your guests from the characters that you have purchased.
