Devonshire Manor: Murder Mystery Party Game

I had some newbies at the party this year who really enjoyed the kit.

Great fun with a gaggle of mostly 13-year old boys. The setup is incredibly easy thanks to the detailed instructions. The company was very prompt and helpful when I emailed with questions. As a newcomer to mystery games I had a great experience. I definitely recommend My Mystery Party to anyone looking for a fun birthday party!

We had so much fun getting into character and gathering clues to solve this murder mystery. There was more laughter and spontaneity in our group than we have had in a long time.

Just a quick review to help others. The mystery packet was complete and put to together well. I bought this for my granddaughter's 16th birthday - and they seemed to really enjoy the mystery. I put together a formal dining experience and they all stayed in character. We had a little mix-up with the right person finding the victim, but it all worked out okay. I recommend this if you have anyone who likes to solve mysteries. It was well-written and I had to do minimal prep work. And, only one person out of the eight guest was able to solve the mystery.

I did Devonshire Manor Murder for 10 girls ages 11 to 13, I cut the CBC reporter and Social Media Consultant out, had to keep to 10 people for Covid-19. Held the party in Garage with door open. Worked out great for the girls, they all had lots of fun.

We did this party with all ladies from church. There were about 35 of us. We used the 7 main characters and the police officer and reporter. Everyone had a wonderful, fun time. It was a bit more work for me with copying everything because we bought the download version vs. the boxed. This was our first time doing a mystery party where the victim died during the party - made for a nice twist to the game. We set up our dead person in a double closet and put the name of the room on the outside of the doors - worked perfect - because I could set it up before the party. We did not play any bonus games due to time. We had simple food - pizza & salad, with fancy brownies and ice cream for dessert. We ate first and brought out dessert just after the 2nd round began. We'll be doing this again!

I purchased this game for my daughters 12th birthday party. She and her friends had a fantastic time playing. It kept all the girls engaged in the role playing for the whole game.
Easy and straightforward instructions. It made for a really enjoyable day.

Neither myself nor my party-goers had ever done a murder mystery before, but the kit did an excellent job of providing the instructions and materials I needed to pull off a smooth and successful party. My guests were mostly people in their mid-20s, and they all had a great time. This game in particular was great for first-timers because of the easy costumes. I was extremely pleased with my purchase.

I coordinated a fundraiser event at my church, along with two other church members, and the event was a huge success! It was a little crazy because there were 30 guests and 6 volunteers to help cook and clean up. With such a large group, I found the best way to communicate was with email. We did the pre-game activities and everyone came dressed up in costume. We were so worried it was going to be hard to keep everyone in character, get them to read the fine print on the clues, and get them to go from activity to another. Most of the church members are over 60 years of age. We held Round One outside in the beautiful Rose Garden and then we moved indoors to the Magnolia Ballroom (AKA Parish Hall) for a delicious dinner. The victim was found dressed in a hand-made victim shirt, lying down on a chalked outline paper, roped off with Do Not Cross tape. The group was so large that we quickly learned it was easier and more time efficient for guests to share their clues out loud to everyone. They wrote down their guess of whodunit and proceeded back into the Magnolia Ballroom for an array of desserts! After the murderer confessed, we handed out prizes for those with best costume, best in character, etc. The prizes were the Clue Game, Mary Drew mystery books, etc. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time and some asked when we are going to have our next mystery dinner!?

Played the Devonshire Mansion set with a group of people aged 20s and 30s. It was challenging enough to keep people engaged and mingling. We added a twist by having everyone play their character with their best British accent.

Main downside is some characters are duds, especially the optional ones. Would definitely recommend this for a fun party night, however.

This product is going to be a great hit with the kids and I didn't have do do a lot of work or spend crazy amounts of money! It's perfect!

I hosted this for friends from church. Our group included adults and teens/preteens. I paired up my youngest players with the characters that allowed for extra characters. That worked perfectly! This was everyone's first time to do a murder mystery, so we were a little unsure of ourselves, but the character cards were clear on what to say.

My only advice to future hosts would be to make it very clear at the beginning of the game, or murder round, that the victim must allow enough time before becoming the victim.

I ordered the downloadable version and had a friend that was not coming to the party cut everything out and put it in envelopes that I provided. It did not take her long to do, and it was easy for her to understand.

Our university Cooperative house used this kit as a fundraiser and everyone had a fantastic time! The characters were amusing and the game kept everyone on their toes! Our house is actually called Devonshire, so this kit was perfect!

This is the Second Mystery Party we have ordered from here. First one was great. We have not done this last purchase yet. We are gathering a lot of props for this one. They make for a great party. You can put as little work into it with what they provide or as much work as you choose. They are great fun either way. Our goal for this Mystery Party , we want to have a lot of surprises lurking around each corner.

We had 7 of us all required and it was a blast. We had some drinks while reviewing everyone's roles. We played for about 3 hours and it was a loads of fun. Everyone wants to do it again.
Since it was our first time, I was a little worried that it would be difficult but it went super smooth and was lots of fun.

I used the basic package for my 8th grade Destination Imagination year end party. The kids loved it. I was rushed so I did minimal prep-about 1 hour for preparing and distributing character packs and 1 hour for setup. I would definitely do this again and this time I'd do a lot more early work to generate excitement and involvement.

I downloaded this murder for my daughter's 14th birthday. We had 7 girls at the party and it turned out to be a blast! I picked this one because the costumes were simple and doable! Everyone came dressed up and I was surprised how well they stayed in character! I would definitely recommend and will probably host another one for my other children too!!!
